Responsibilities for the Paralegal:

  • Perform due diligence
  • Conduct zone and title searches
  • Conduct case law research
  • File UCC financing statements, corporate documents, and IRS forms
  • Maintain closing agendas
  • Handle bid proposal responses to government agencies and other potential clients seeking legal services via RFPs and COMMBUYs website
  • Schedule and draft correspondence
  • Organize and circulate documents
  • Assist with drafting, filing and recording of documents
  • Prepare litigation, conduct research, review and manage file documents
  • Draft affidavits and memoranda (cases may include contract disputes over real estate uses or employment issues, internal investigations, class action claims, discrimination allegations, etc.)
  • Assist with closing transactions such as mergers, buyouts and real estate property
  • Conduct zoning research and draft memoranda regarding findings
  • Research IRS and tax related documents including New Market Tax Credit, Exempt Organization Business Master File, and abatement of real property taxes
  • Monitor healthcare and educational legislation, news, and events
  • Draft client alerts regarding changes in laws and regulations
Requirements for the Paralegal:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Technology savvy with a strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
