Listening is such an important skill when it comes to making sure we are making the best matches between clients and candidates. Actively listening to clients improves mutual understanding of their needs and, likewise, helps us best understand what our candidates are looking for in a new role.
Yesterday, we conducted an exercise focused on this skill set– where one consultant was tasked with drawing an object (without looking) based on listening to the description from a colleague. This helps make listening more practical, highlighting the need to ask clarifying questions in order to improve outcomes and to fully understand the other person’s vision.
