Today marks the second annual One Boston Day – a day of remembrance for The Boston Marathon bombings, which took place three years ago on April 15th, 2013. As you may know, Mayor Walsh declared this day as a time for us to come together and honor the bravery, resolve, and unity of this city by reaching out, helping those in need, and committing random acts of kindness.
KNF&T has many philanthropic endeavors throughout the year. For this day in particular, we wanted to honor and thank those local heroes who put their lives on the line for us on a daily basis –our local fire fighters.
And, what better way to do this than by surprising our firefighters with Boston-themed treats from Top Shelf Cookies?! This is a fantastic Boston bakery with cookie flavors we love such as Left on Boylston, Green Monster Mint, and Boston Lager Chocolate Chip. Making this gesture extra special, Top Shelf Cookies is donating 15% of today’s sales to team MR8, in support of the Martin Richard Foundation. Certainly, a cause we are proud to support.
KNF&T delivered our treats to the Fire Station located in the North End on Hanover Street in Boston, MA. We are so very grateful to these everyday Boston heroes, who have our utmost respect. Today, we thank them for all that they do, we remember the victims of the bombings, and we admire the survivors’ strength. KNF&T is honored and humbled to take part in this tradition of One Boston Day, as we continue to remain Boston Strong!
