Salary:$130,000 - $170,000 + 20% Bonus

KNF&T has partnered with a leading financial services company, seeking talented individuals to join our team as Directors of Investment Operational Accounting. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key partner and representative to the operational accounting impacts of our investment operations processes.

 

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Head of Investment Accounting Systems Governance Investment Controllership, the Director will lead a team responsible for ensuring the integrity of the accounting information received from the Investment Operations securities system. This team will be highly focused on the control environment supporting this purpose, working closely with Investment Operations and Securities Controllership to leverage technology and resource opportunities for efficient and effective processes.

 

Responsibilities: 

- Lead a team responsible for ensuring effective controls related to securities operational accounting, including daily and monthly reconciliations, data exception analysis, and system upgrades support.

- Train new Investment Reconciliation Analysts on daily and monthly tasks, providing ongoing training as needed to the entire team.

- Establish aggressive KPIs and demonstrate consistent performance in achieving and exceeding goals and objectives.

- Lead the development and implementation of internal process control initiatives ensuring error-free execution of all tasks.

- Conduct thorough research, analysis, and retrieval of data to ensure accurate and timely preparation and maintenance of complex account reconciliations.

- Identify and reconcile differences within established investment and accounting systems using critical analysis skills.

- Collaborate with various business areas to determine appropriate remediation strategies.

- Analyze and interpret financial information to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.

- Prepare and maintain complex account records with meticulous attention to detail.

- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve items and address investment-related issues.

- Implement new control processes and assess improvements by evaluating the end-to-end impacts on operational securities accounting.

- Partner with teams, including but not limited to Securities Controllership, Investment Operations, Treasury, and ERM, to establish workflows and operational securities accounting.

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

- 8+ years of related experience.

- 1+ years of experience developing and managing onshore and offshore teams.

- Investment operations experience is desired.

- Investment accounting systems experience is preferred.

- CPA is preferred.

- Strong analytical skills: ability to analyze financial data sets and tell the story of the data.

- Proven ability to complete high-quality work efficiently and increase autonomy over time.

- Able to build and maintain strong working relationships across cross-functional groups.
